Carlo er i 70’erne. Han er gift med Viola som han bor sammen
med på en institution. Viola lider af en voldsom alzheimer.
Men Carlo, engang en driftig mand med pokaler for sine
færdigheder på motorcykel, er ikke færdig med livet, selvom han har sat sine
motorcykler i garage. Han længes.
Ved en begravelse møder han den 80 årige enke Ester, som
sandelig ikke har lagt livet bag sig. Sammen oplever de en gedigen forelskelse
med alt hvad den slags rummer af jalousi, usikkerhed og eventyr. Carlo befinder
sig i en konflikttilstand på grund af hans forpligtelser, kærlighed og
loyalitet for Viola, ligesom han får problemer med sin søn, en magtfuld mand
der har skaffet ham og Viola denne bolig. Ester må på sin side døje med en
emsig datter og en overnysgerrig nabo, som begge har problemer med at fordøje
hendes amourøse udskejelser.
Ikke desto mindre beslutter de sig for at blive gift, men
intet er givet her i livet.
Carlo is well into his 70es. He is married to Viola with
whom he lives in an institution. Viola suffers from a violent Alzheimer’s.
But Carlo, once an enterprising man holding cups for his
abilities on the motorbike, isn’t done with life, even his bikes have long been
put away in a garage. He is longing.
At a funeral he catches the playful eye of 80-year-old
Ester, who certainly hasn’t put life behind her. Together they experience a
heated love affair with al the due ingredients of jalousie, insecurity and
adventure. Carlo finds himself in a state of conflict because of his
obligations, love and loyalty to Viola, like he gets problems with his son, a
powerful man who has managed to get this home for his parents. Ester, on her
side has to deal with an over reacting daughter and an inquisitive neighbour,
both of whom have their problems in digesting Ester’s amorous excesses.
